WHO CAN PURCHASE TEAM INSURANCE?
Anyone domiciled in the U.S.
NOT REGISTERED?
No need, registration is included.
DOES THIS INSURANCE COVER MY TEAM IF I PLAY IN ANY ORGANIZATION?
Yes, It covers you for practice and play in any amateur association.
HOW DO I ADD AN ADDITIONAL INSURED?
After you have completed your purchase, go to your dashboard and click on the "+" sign to add an additional insured. If you want to add an additional insured later in the season you log back in to the system with your login information (email/password) and click on the "+" sign to add the additional insured.
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PLAYERS ALLOWED ON A BASEBALL OR SOFTBALL TEAM?
20 players.
WHEN DO TEAM/LEAGUE INSURANCE POLICIES EXPIRE?
You can purchase coverage that expires on January 1st or August 1st.
WHO IS COVERED BY THE TEAM SECONDARY ACCIDENT MEDICAL INSURANCE?
Secondary accident medical coverage is provided for all players and coaches.
WHO IS COVERED BY TEAM GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE?
General Liability coverage is provided for players, coaches, sponsors, bat/ball boys/girls, scorekeepers, and other team volunteers.
WHAT IS THE POLICY LIMIT AND DEDUCTIBLE ON THE ACCIDENT MEDICAL INSURANCE?
The secondary accident medical limit is $100,000 for youth/$10,000 for adults per occurrence, with a $250, $500 or $1000 deductible for youth and a $500, $1000, and $2500 deductible for adults.
WHAT IS THE POLICY LIMIT AND DEDUCTIBLE PER TEAM ON THE GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE?
The general liability limit is $2,000,000 per occurrence with no deductible.
I NEED AN ADDITIONAL INSURED CERTIFICATE FOR A FACILITY OWNER. HOW DO I PROCEED?
Go to www.chappellinsurance.com, log in, click on “ Add Additional Insured”. Your certificate can be printed/emailed from the website.
IS OUR LEAGUE “ALL-STAR” TEAM COVERED UNDER OUR LEAGUE INSURANCE?
Yes “all-star” teams made up entirely of players from your league are automatically covered with no additional fee.
OUR TEAM/LEAGUE IS HOSTING A TOURNAMENT AS A FUNDRAISER. DOES OUR LIABILITY INSURANCE PROTECT US FOR HOSTING THIS EVENT?
Yes. Liability coverage is provided for your team/league (does not cover the other teams in the event) for fund raising activities. Certain activities, such as skydiving, fireworks, and concerts are excluded.
HOW DO WE GET A CLAIM FORM?
Your claim form is included with your certificate of insurance (last three pages).
I HAVE MEDICAL INSURANCE AT WORK. CAN I SUBMIT MY ENTIRE CLAIM TO MY TEAM’S INSURANCE CARRIER?
No. You must submit your medical claim to your primary medical insurer first. Our coverage is secondary to any collectible medical insurance you may have.
SHOULD I SEND IN MY CLAIM FORM IMMEDIATELY OR WAIT UNTIL ALL OF MY BILLS ARE RECEIVED?
Always file your claim as quickly as possible after the injury. Send in all bills as they are received with a copy of the original claim form.
I WAS INJURED IN A GAME, BUT WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY WITH THE INJURY. CAN I WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE SEASON FOR TREATMENT?
No. Treatment must begin within 26 weeks and be concluded within 52 weeks of the date of injury.
ARE MY EYEGLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES COVERED?
No. Personal property is not covered.
IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE COVERED ON THE TEAM INSURANCE POLICY?
Yes. Subject to the policy limits.
OUR TEAM WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT WHILE TRAVELING TO A TOURNAMENT. DOES OUR TEAM INSURANCE COVER THIS LOSS?
Secondary accident medical coverage is provided for organized group travel only (The entire team traveling together-can be more than one vehicle). Travel/ Automobile liability coverage is excluded on the liability policy.
IS SEXUAL ABUSE AND MOLESTATION (SAM) COVERAGE AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED IN THE 2024 GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE POLICY?
You have the option to purchase with or without SAM coverage when you make your purchase.
